Ruth Elaine Daube, age 87, of Lombard, and a long-time supporter of Salam Christian Fellowship, went into the arms of the Lord on November 25, 2025.
Ruth was formerly a member at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lombard. She volunteered often with Sunday School, the Nursery, the Spiritual Life Committee, and the Evangelism Team. She became a member of Family in Faith Christian Church in Glendale Heights in 1999, and developed a special heart for Missions—working on the Missions Committee and attending Lutheran Women’s Missionary League conventions.
She also became involved with Exodus World Service, befriending refugee families from Bosnia, Liberia, and Afghanistan. Ruth sponsored a child from Tanzania through Compassion International, and was a major help to Bruno in his years of outreach mission to the Chicago homeless with The Night Ministry.
Ruth’s quiet dedication to missions, to refugees, and to the homeless was a living testament to her deep and abiding faith. Her earthly race is now finished, and we find comfort knowing her generous heart rests in the eternal peace she so faithfully pursued for others
“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
— Romans 8:38-39 (KJV)
